The art of Parisian hospitality

On a quiet street in the 9th arrondissement, far from the hustle and bustle of tourist traffic, lies a place that perfectly embodies the spirit of quiet luxury. Hôtel Maison Mère does not seek to impress through opulence, but rather to charm with its ability to create a rare sense of intimacy in the heart of Paris. More than a hotel, it is a hybrid living space where guests can sleep, work, have a drink, discover an exhibition, or simply share a convivial moment in the coworking café. The interior architecture embraces refined sobriety, blending noble woods, warm materials and carefully curated works of art. Each space, from the lobby to the gallery to the rooms, contributes to a coherent and soothing experience, true to the ambition of offering a “home away from home” while maintaining uncompromising service quality.

The legacy of family expertise

The story of Hôtel Maison Mère is rooted in three generations of hotel tradition. Aziz Temimi, heir to this lineage, grew up “in the corridors” of family-run hotels before envisioning an establishment in his own image: authentic, welcoming, and open to both the neighbourhood and its visitors. This vision goes beyond the conventional idea of service, embracing emotional hospitality, where every arrival is personalised and every interaction thoughtful. The concierge service—attentive and readily available—anticipates needs as much as it guides discovery, while a dedicated web app enhances the digital experience, allowing guests to select services and rituals seamlessly. This fusion of family heritage and contemporary travel practices gives Maison Mère a strong identity that is both reassuring and surprising.

The elegance of simplicity

This instinctive approach to luxury is evident from the moment guests step inside: no ostentatious displays, but a welcoming marble fireplace and an artistic mosaic adorned with discreet symbols. The traditional reception desk deliberately recedes to make room for a cosy lobby dominated by noble woods and soothing tones.

The ambition to offer lively, everyday hospitality is reflected in every detail, from the choice of materials to the varied lighting atmospheres designed to accompany meetings or moments of relaxation. Maison Mère does not aspire to be a simple stopover, but a contemporary refuge—faithful to the Parisian spirit while creating new hotel experiences where work, social life and the pleasure of living naturally converge.

Refined rooms and services

Hôtel Maison Mère cultivates the art of understatement. Its 51 rooms and suites, conceived as unique pied-à-terre spaces, favour discreet refinement over ostentatious luxury. Each room tells its own story, from the intimate “Alvéole” to the more spacious suites offering private views over Parisian rooftops. True luxury lies in the attention to detail: exceptional bedding, flawless soundproofing, and modern amenities such as high-speed Wi-Fi, dynamic TV streaming, a minibar and a coffee machine, all within a warm and personalised atmosphere. High-end welcome products complete the experience, while additional services—room service, in-room breakfast and wellness options—further enhance the stay.

A living art gallery and an evolving living space

Hôtel Maison Mère’s originality is subtly expressed through its concept of a permanent gallery and evolving cultural spaces. Every six months, local artists take over the corridors, creating dynamic exhibitions that infuse the hotel with a living soul, far removed from the static décor of traditional venues. On the shelves in the lobby and in the rooms, artworks and handcrafted pieces engage in an elegant dialogue. Many items are sourced from local designers, with some available for purchase, forging an authentic connection with the neighbourhood and supporting the Parisian art scene. This cultural richness strengthens Maison Mère’s identity as a meeting point between guests and locals, encouraging creativity and exchange.

As a “neighbourhood curator”, Hôtel Maison Mère maintains close relationships with local artisans, without resorting to overt communication. This philosophy is reflected in the Nectar restaurant, where culinary offerings blend French influences with contemporary creations, as well as in the coworking café—a connected space designed to welcome a diverse audience of travellers, freelancers and local residents. Yoga sessions and themed events punctuate life at the hotel, offering moments of serenity or sociability depending on individual moods. Maison Mère is thus both a home open to its surroundings and a place to stay.

Accessible exclusivity and international recognition

As members of the “MM Family”—a loyalty programme conceived as a private club—regular guests enjoy special attention and privileged access to private events. This approach fosters a sense of belonging without ostentation, in keeping with the spirit of the house. Maison Mère also successfully balances international recognition with local authenticity: it has been awarded the “Best of the Best 2024” title by Tripadvisor, a distinction that attests to its overall excellence and the singular experience it offers. Even pets are welcomed into this environment, reflecting a form of hospitality attuned to contemporary lifestyles.
