From Paris to Budapest, Rome to Courchevel, this first issue explores the places, objects and gestures that prolong the spirit of celebration beyond the calendar. Theatrical architecture, precious craftsmanship, luminous materials and frosted horizons weave together an aesthetic and sensory journey. Here, celebration becomes a language in its own right: the language of beauty, rarity and life.
The opera house becomes a party venue

In the heart of Paris’s 9th arrondissement, the Palais Garnier offers a spectacular setting for celebrations. Its salons, foyers and grand staircase lend themselves to private events infused with glamour and emotion. Designed by Charles Garnier and inaugurated in 1875, this opulent baroque enclave — adorned with multicoloured marble, sparkling mosaics and gilding — can welcome up to 2,000 guests for cocktail receptions in its public spaces.
Every corner, from the Galerie du Glacier to the Rotonde des Abonnés, offers a modular backdrop for large-scale events, equipped and adapted for festivities. An evening spent at the opera creates a rare dialogue between heritage and intimacy: the emotion of the place is enriched, and celebration becomes ceremonial.

In the tradition of princely and familial celebrations

At the Palace of Versailles, celebration is a ritual carved in stone. From the 17th century onwards, Louis XIV hosted lavish balls, fireworks, concerts and theatrical spectacles to express royal power. Today, galas and private events continue this legacy: the Royal Opera House, State Apartments and gardens are available for grand receptions.
A few dozen kilometres away, the Château de Chenonceau embodies a livelier, more intimate elegance. Candlelit concerts, tastings and seasonal garden events perpetuate the site’s festive atmosphere. Two palaces, two perspectives: one celebrates grandeur and ceremony; the other blends intimacy with lightness. Both remind us that celebration is not just a moment — it is a place.
Stop. Open your eyes. Observe. Contemplate.

Night-time rhythms along the river
Robby der Berliner, Pexels, 27/10/2020
In Budapest, the banks of the Danube embody a quiet, unhurried celebration. On one side lies the hill of Buda Castle, offering meditative viewpoints; on the other, the wide plain of Pest opens onto lively quays where city lights merge with the reflections of the river. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the area carries layers of history — Roman Aquincum, Gothic fortresses, the neo-Renaissance sweep of Andrássy Avenue — but also the nocturnal allure of illuminated bridges and suspended energy.
Choosing to stroll or dance along the quays at night is to transform the city into a festive stage, the river into a pretext for joy.

Elegance in motion
Valentino
Under the direction of Alessandro Michele, Valentino has rediscovered the art of excess. His first haute couture collection, Vertigineux, sweeps across centuries: aristocratic silhouettes, Parisian boudoir references, reimagined icons. Everything evokes celebration — not of noise but of refinement. Past and present merge in the same vertiginous embroidery.
In parallel, Rendez-Vous Ivory 2025 translates this spirit into beauty: ivory-and-gold bottles, reinterpreted Born in Roma fragrances, intense matte reds. Each detail expresses radiance. The launch, held at Studio 54, seals the bond between audacity and memory. At Valentino, celebration is not an embellishment but a substance — a language of light and texture where elegance becomes a tangible emotion.

Calendrier de l’Avent – Guerlain
A tale of wonders every day
Calendrier de l’Avent – Guerlain
At Guerlain, anticipation becomes an art. The Le Conte des Merveilles edition opens like a precious book, draped in deep red and fine gold, designed by artist Mélissandre Vidal. Inside, twenty-five drawers conceal fragments of the Guerlain universe: miniature perfumes, exceptional skincare, candles and accessories.
Each opening extends celebration ahead of time, between the scent of Shalimar and glimmers of Abeille Royale. More than a calendar, it is a ritual — one that transforms everyday gestures into moments of wonder. Guerlain offers not surprise but the continuity of enchantment. Day after day, beauty becomes a story and luxury a living memory.
Van Cleef & Arpels
Christmas Roses, graceful craftsmanship
Van Cleef & Arpels
In 2025, Van Cleef & Arpels expands its Christmas Roses collection with new creations — two pairs of earrings and two pendant clips — celebrating the winter bloom as a symbol of love and beauty. True to its heritage, the House crafts each piece by hand using traditional techniques: wax modelling, patient polishing, meticulous assembly.
Carnelian and mother-of-pearl petals, carved in relief, emit a soft, sensual glow. Nothing ostentatious — only the right measure of sparkle, born of masterful craftsmanship. With these suspended flowers, Van Cleef & Arpels blends heritage and innovation, perpetuating a tradition of poetic fine jewellery. More than a seasonal line, Roses de Noël is a tribute to craftsmanship, materials and enduring beauty.
Heritage ornaments
Christofle
For Christmas 2025, Christofle unveils a new interpretation of its goldsmithing legacy. Two vintage baubles — one plated in 24-carat gold, the other in polished silver — continue its tradition of sustainable luxury.
The Goldplate Christmas Ball 2025 features an intricate openwork design of cinnamon sticks, orange slices and winter foliage. Engraved with the year and the House monogram, it hangs from an ivory ribbon punctuated with a pearl, like a miniature piece of jewellery. Alongside it, the Bouquet Givré in silver-plated metal emits a cool, crystalline light.
Since 1830, Christofle has cultivated this dialogue between tradition and design. These baubles are more than ornaments: they embody a way of living, a manner of celebrating with sensitivity, heritage and restraint.

For the 2025–2026 season, Rossignol continues its ascent along the path of responsible innovation. True to its French heritage, the brand combines performance with restraint, integrating recycled materials, bio-based resins and PEFC-certified wood into its new ranges.
The Arcade collection succeeds Experience with unisex all-mountain skis offering precision and fluidity. Sender Free 100 reinvents freeride skiing with a lightweight structure and Air Tip technology. Forza refines its design for short, sharp turns, while the Touring Escaper line relies on the lightness of Paulownia wood and the stability of carbon.
Beyond the slopes, Rossignol reveals Vercors, a long-distance trail shoe that carries the mountain spirit into motion. The brand presents a coherent, balanced collection — technical, elegant and responsible.
Visiting Santa Claus

In northern Finland, on the Arctic Circle, Rovaniemi hosts Santa Claus Village — where magic takes tangible form. The Red House, Santa’s Office, bustling elves and reindeer sleighs create a setting that feels both mythical and real.
Here, visitors of all ages can meet Santa Claus, speak with him, take photographs and symbolically cross the Arctic Circle. Around the village, reindeer farms, dog-sled rides and snowy chalets add to the enchantment.
More than an attraction, Rovaniemi is where imagination and boreal nature meet. Beneath the green sky of the aurora borealis, the festive season becomes a state of mind. In the silence of the Far North, Christmas feels self-evident: pure, white, infinite.

The city of lights
Jon Tyson, Unsplash, 19/01/2018
In winter, New York becomes a theatre of light. At the heart of Rockefeller Center, a Norway spruce nearly thirty metres tall rises, adorned with 50,000 LED lights and crowned with a Swarovski star made of three million crystals. The lighting ceremony on 3 December 2025 will once again mark the official opening of the festive season — a ritual of splendour and urban intensity.
The magic continues until mid-January: Fifth Avenue shop windows, Radio City Music Hall decorations, the Wall Street tree, the Bryant Park ice rink. Everywhere, the city hums with reflected light. New York at Christmas is less a backdrop than a sensory experience — a mix of cold, noise, crowds and radiance. In this suspended brightness, the holiday becomes a breath of air: brilliant, collective, inexhaustible.

In Courchevel, Christmas is lived as a lifestyle. Beneath pristine snow, façades glow, slopes sparkle, and five-star hotels become festive theatres. At L’Écrin Blanc, the Grand Dîner on 24 and 31 December merges gastronomy with performance: dancers, musicians, singers and an exceptional menu in a cosy setting at the foot of the slopes.
At Carlina, festivities continue with a New Year’s Eve dinner, a heated spa, a New Year’s Day brunch and a mountain-ball ambiance. All around, Courchevel shines: torchlight descents, fireworks, meetings with Father Christmas and gala evenings where elegance sets the tone.
Here, the mountains take on the traits of luxury. In the hush of falling snow, each glimmer of light conveys the same promise: a Christmas that is both spectacular and suspended in time.
